Quiet and good-natured, Third has always displayed a maturity and understanding not only beyond his years, but beyond his physical age. He is calm, responsible, and compassionate. His best friend is his familiar, Constant, who goes with him everywhere. Third is an avid reader, devouring every book he can get his hands on. He also enjoys the outdoors, especially swimming. He has a forgiving nature and would sooner work through problems than hold grudges or internalize. He is honest and unafraid to speak his mind and ask questions. He is also unafraid to follow his own path and assert himself for what he believes in. Third contains elements of all three of the divine forces, most notably Time and Creation, but he also embodies Destruction, merely in ways that are not yet fully apparent. HISTORY

Collective History: the Deity Algorithm
The philosopher Dirossme Toligurthein hypothesized that under certain laws of divine mathematics, the existence of an individual with attributes of all three universal classes could exist. Referred to as a Singular Deity, it was long seen as a fanciful musing in the multiverse.

Then, when the Conflict between Deity Command and the Three began, Command decided to try and create a singular deity as a weapon. They experimented on friend and foe alike, torturing countless souls and recycling them to try again. Totally unknown to the Command, the Three had already created the equivalent of a singular deity, albeit quite accidentally, and the secret was not in trying to create a single entity but in merging three existing matrices into one form. Command, of course, lacking the level of creativity to see this, persisted in its single-minded experiments.

During a laboratory accident, the Command managed to create something they thought was a Singular Deity, but it escaped, and fled into the arms of the enemy: the Three.

Because they had Command's deity experiment, the Three, via the efforts of Charles Aberdeen, were able to negotiate a peace treaty at the Second Conference.

Individual History
Third's earliest memories are of being awash with pain and bodiless, a swirling maelstrom of deific energy and souls. When he first came into being, he was aware of his soul being bound to a body, a half-dead infant's. The transfer was painful, and just as painful was the knowledge of what had been done to this baby to make it a receptive conduit. When Third opened his eyes, he looked into a world of containers and tubes and machines and not a single human face. He cried, but there was no one there to comfort him. He saw only a symbol on the ceiling of his container: III.

His first few hours, deity command watched Third's progress with careful attention. He was the third infant int their current experiment. The other two had died most greusomely. But as the hours went on, Third hung on, and the scientists cheered themselves for their success.

But Third was not happy. He cried for someone to help him. It was a cry that shook the cosmos, filled with blackness, and Third destroyed the universe of the scientists and the experiment with it. His creoationary nature immediate took over, and Third found himself in a pocket, alone until a dimensional Bridge opened up in the wall and

Original History
Originally, Third and Constant were born from the book Ender's Game, in the Forgotten Library on Gaia. They spent their earliest months in the Virginia House. When Emperial decided to retreat back to World Zero, Third and Constant went with her. They spent several months there with Emperial's uncle Doug and his daughter Shizue. Because of the interference of the magisterial influence on the Forgotten Library, Third accidentally corrupted World Zero's matrix while trying to reach the End of the World. This corrupted the matrix of Emperial herself by extension, killing her. Emperial left a piece of her soul with Third and Constant.

The matrix corruption led to a cataclysmic chain of events. Because Third had a piece of Emperial's soul, he was sought after by the Supreme Commander, who wished to use Third to bend the Emperials to her will. Third and Constant were shuffled between several guardians during the space of a few months: Wilbur Page, Dr. M, Lily Atreidon-Pierrot and Billy Gunn, and finally Trion Bartholomew. They made many friends during their journey. Trion was their final stop, and they lived with him on Gaia, hiding from the Supreme Commander, for several weeks. Then, in the summer of 2006, Trion took Third and Constant to the Second Conference. When they finally met the feared Supreme Commander, she cave Third the name Hhalak and Constant the name Tchriai. They were reunited with Emperial (albeit it in a different form) and went to live at the Sunset House in the Neighborhood. They made new friends again, most notably their neighbor Minnarkentanit Trant.

Third and Constant had fun living their daily lives, but something was missing. Then, walking on Gaia one day, Third found a strange necklace. It turned out to be a sleeping Iridae. Third took care of the necklace until the Iridae emerged: his little sister Aelinye. She was the missing piece, and Third and Constant took up all responsibility for her. Things went very well for some months. During this time, Third somehow fell into a mirror and was trapped in the Giant's Drink, where he died dozens of deaths until he could kill the giant and escape. Upon escaping, he discovered no real time had passed, but he had grown.

Then, Sunset Emperial asked Third to leave the Sunset House. She had a Praetorian assignment and realized that Third would not want Aelinye to be around the subject of her assignment. Third agreed and he, Constant, and Aelinye went to live in Greyhaven with another Emperial. Before leaving, they paid a visit to Trant, who gave Third the honorific nickname "Rid'e."

Greyhaven was a vast, misty city. Third and Constant settled into their new home and made new friends again. Third took up hockey. He took care of Aelinye. In December of 2006, he and Constant went to the holiday party and met lots more people and saw all of their old friends ad the people who had helped them. After the party, Third became sick, and Greyhaven Em, Pavel, and several others all came together te help take care of him and Aelinye. Even being sick, it was a wonderful time. Then, just a week later, Constant fell sick, too, and no one could figure out what was wrong or how to make her well. Her fur fell out and she lost consciousness, Third fretting for her life. In her dream state, Constant encountered a salamander, and with a giant burst of energy she was transformed, her wings turning to fire and her tail to a lizard's, strange amphibious skin along her back and on her rear left paw. Third was immensely relieved to find his daemon safe and his family whole again.

Then, Greyhaven Emperial asked Third to rewrite his own history using the wish he had unknowingly received at the Second Conference. The magisterial influence of the Forgotten Library had placed a block an Third's development which was hindering his growth, Constant's growth, and, by extension, Aelinye's growthl. When he learned the full extent of the problem, Third agreed, and together he and Emperial rewrote his history, Third becoming a deific construct. In this way, Third was able to finally grow and develop as he should, and the interfering magisterial influence of the Forgotten Library that had caused so many problems (including the death of Third's original guardian) was removed.

ASSOCIATIONS

Constant - Third's familiar. She and Third can communicate psychically.

Aelinye - Third's little sister, he takes care of her and is her guardian.

Emperial the White - Third and Constant's current guardian. Friendly, affectionate, and open, White takes a pragmatic view of life and has a fantastically awful sense of humor. She puts Third, Constant, and Aelinye as priority one.

Greyhaven Em (Grey) - Third and Constant's previous guardian. She lives in Greyhaven. Grounded and fair, Grey respects and loves Third a great deal and still visits him regularly. She gave Third and Constant almost total freedom, trusting Third's judgment and believing that experience is the best teacher of all. Third inspired her to become a praetorix; she was previously an imperatrix.

Pavel Antipov - Technically, Third's uncle, but in some regards a father figure. Pavel introduced Third to hockey.

Trion Bartholomew - Trion's exact relation to Third and Constant cannot be defined, but he is part of their family. Trion took care of Third and Constant when they were hiding from the Supreme Commander. He is highly disciplined and focused, a trained mercenary. Trion is one of Third's role models. He lives with Alin-Maya, his partner.

Minnarkentanit Trant - One of Third's mentors and former neighbor, Trant taught Third to put aside personal biases and try to understand others from their point of view. He also gave Third the nickname Rid'e. Trant has great affection for Third, and Third respects him immensely.

Boris Ivonin Milyukov - Hockey teammate and close friend of Third's, Boris is known for his foul sense of humor.

Nadejda Ordina - A mute psychic, Nadejda has helped Third by looking after Aelinye during hockey practices and when he was sick. Dmitry Petrov is her brother.

Shizue - Third and Constant grew up with Shizue on World Zero. She's like a sister or cousin, though there is no blood relation. Shizue is extremely quiet and can communicate with ghosts.

Dmitry Mikhailov Petrov - The second-strongest psychic in the Imperium, Dmitry can hear Third and Constant's communications. Despite this, Third and Constant don't feel any particular kinship for Dmitry, or even like him. They find his eavesdropping annoying. Dmitry is one of Third's teammates, and the two can be quite competitive. Dmitry actually likes Third and Constant a lot, even though he knows they don't like him. Nadejda is his sister.

Rusak Petrovich Talietzin - Ruthless and unfriendly, Rusak is a hard man to like. Third tolerates him for Constant's sake. Rusak is a member of the Russian Hockey League.

Wilbur Page - A temporal comptroller who helped hide Third and Constant from the Supreme Commander. Wilbur is a kind man with four children of his own. Third and Constant view their time with Wilbur in North Carolina as one of the best periods in their life. Wilbur is very much like a grandfather to Third.

Supreme Commander EmileAmai - Third's aunt -- or more accurately his great-aunt. The Supreme Commander is a heartless, cruel woman who has only ever wanted to use Third to further her own interests. She is the Void personified and believes that Third should embrace his black nature and become a vehicle for destruction. As the leader of the Three, EmileAmai had the right of naming him when they finally met, and she gave Third the name Hhalak.

Nikolai Vasilivich Belyakov - Hockey teammate, and Pavel's best friend. Gentle, kind, and polite, he looks out for Third on the ice.

William Gunn - Along with Lily, helped look after Third  and Constant and hide them from the Supreme Commander. Gunn is a big teddy bear of a guy, always impeccably dressed, with some psychological problems, but a good heart.

Lily C. Atreidon-Pierrot - A variant of Emperial, Lily suffered a dimensional schism. She is a fearful person and never strays far from the side of her best friend, Gunn, if she can help it.

Sally Veers - Former neighbor, Sally is a pediatrician who has both helped Third care for Aelinye, and taken care of Third when he was sick.

Sunset Em (Sunny) - Third and Constant's second guardian, she was a bit scatterbrained and made a lot of mistakes, but tried her best. Loves computer games. She sent Third, Constant, and Aelinye to Greyhaven so she could focus on her praetorian duties.

Emperial (World Zero) - Third and Constant's first guardian. Extremely sensitive, she valued the simple things in life. She died when her dimensional matrix was corrupted.

Charles Aberdeen - Third has met Aberdeen only briefly, but Aberdeen's composure and bravery impressed him.

Douglas MacArthur Hein - Shizue's father, and Third's uncle-by-extension. Doug is extremely grumpy and doesn't really like Third or Constant very much, but he was an influence in their upbringing. His loyalty to Emperial is unquestioning.

Alin-Maya Mauritius XVII - Trion Bartholomew's partner, generally sweet-natured and very friendly. When drunk, he goes a bit wacky. Alin-Maya is heir to the Merovingian throne.

Trion Bartimeus - Physically identical to Trion Bartholomew but otherwise completely different, Bartimeus lives in Greyhaven Em's attic. He's a rock musician, but is actually a very shy, quiet person. Though he lived in the same house as Third for several moths, they never developed any particular relationship.

Dr. M - An eccentric genius, Dr. M helped Third and Constant escape the Supreme Commander. He is a dimensional alter of Pavel Antipov and Wilbur Page. Third doesn't like him very much because M reminds Third of the scentists, but Third feels bad for the little man, whose life is in shambles, and wants to help him somehow.

ADDITIONAL NOTES

Third was given his Rhean name, Hhalak, by the Obsidian Lady. (notes on meaning/lack of meaning)

Later, he was also given the Calym honorific name Rid'e by Trant, which morphed into the nickname Ridley.
